Online course “How to be a journalist”
In just a few months since its creation, Young Innovations Europe has successfully organised its first free online course.
Held
from May to June 2010 and intended for young people coming from one of
the member countries of the Council of Europe, the online course “How to
be a journalist” has been a resource for all those youths interested in
gaining new knowledge about journalism, both in its traditional and new
ways.
A lot of attention has been drawn on the important role of
journalism as a vehicle to promote social changes as well as on the
ethics of journalism.
The issue of the complex relationship between
journalism and non for profit organizations has also been investigated
in one of the four modules.
The course has also been an
opportunity for those who completed it to put into practice what they
have learnt: those students will write an article for YIE’s next issues
or for YIE’s News section of the website.

As you might know, YIE’s main aim is to inspire and engage young
people to become active change makers in their field of interest, while
inform the adults of what young people are up to and the impact their
projects are having throughout Europe.
But we also want to be
inspired by you and know what you think about our project, so we can
learn from your opinions, experience and stories!
As a way to
collaboratively shape our path and the next steps for the upcoming year,
we invite you to fill in this survey and compete for the chance to win
Euro 1,000!
These are the criteria:
- Up to 35 years of age
- Currently living in one of the countries part of the Council of Europe
- Interested in launching a local initiative
So, fill in the survey at www.surveymonkey.com until October 25th.
Results will be announced in early November.

To all of you, THE BEST OF LUCK!!!
